Teen Programming Pathfinder

Introduction

The purpose of this pathfinder is to provide resources and reference materials on the subject of teen programming.  This pathfinder would be beneficial to a school librarian or a youth services librarian.  The American Library Association describes youth services as “resources for the birth to young adult populations, including early literacy, programming, award winners, summer reading, and more.”

This pathfinder includes reference books on the subjects of multicultural programs for tweens and teens, how to build teen library programming, and examples of teen programming.  Also included are scholarly, peer-reviewed articles from academic journals regarding the benefits of teen programming in a library.  Additionally, this pathfinder will provide online resources to sites that specialize in programming for youth services.

Finally, this pathfinder will include links to instructional videos of examples that could be used to create a teen program.
